Basketball Recap: New London-Spicer Comes Up Short

After flying high against Paynesville last Friday, New London-Spicer came back down to earth. The New London-Spicer Wildcats took a 67-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Minnewaska Area Lakers on Tuesday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lakers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

New London-Spicer now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Minnewaska Area, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-1.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the New London-Spicer Wildcats duke it out with the Redwood Valley Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Redwood Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully New London-Spicer likes a good challenge. As for Minnewaska Area, they will welcome Barnesville at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
