Volleyball Recap: Straughn Beats Pike County for Their Third Straight Win

Straughn entered their tilt with Pike County on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on Thursday.

Straughn walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-19, 25-18.

Blakeley Smith paced Straughn's offense, picking up 16 kills. Smith got some help from Kylee Brown and her 14 assists. Brown was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Straughn's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Pike County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Coming up, Straughn will head out on the road to challenge Andalusia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pike County, they will host Daleville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
