Westfield extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping their season record down to 7-11 in the process. They lost 13-5 to the Chantilly Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 6-5 loss on Monday.

Westfield got a good showing from Ava Petruncio, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Rylee Schmid made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Lizzy Laurelli, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Chantilly, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games.

On Chantilly's side, Bella Eig spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. Eig has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Izzy Dilber was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Natalie Tamerjan was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs.

As of now, neither Westfield nor Chantilly have any future games scheduled.
