Basketball Game Preview: Southland College Prep vs. Crete-Monee Warriors

Southland College Prep just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Crete-Monee Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southland College Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Crete-Monee likes a good challenge.

While Southland College Prep's victory against Unity Christian Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Southland College Prep skirted past Unity Christian Academy 59-57. The score was all tied up 25-25 at the break, but Southland College Prep was the better team in the second half.

Southland College Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but JaZarria Moore-Smith led the charge by putting up 24 points. Another player making a difference was Paris Byrd, who posted 19 points.

Meanwhile, Crete-Monee ended up a good deal behind Oak Lawn on Saturday and lost 65-47. The Warriors have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Southland College Prep now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Crete-Monee, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-3.
