Basketball Recap: Red Mesa Skates Past Music Mountain with Ease

There's no place like home for Red Mesa, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Music Mountain Warriors 50-22. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Redskins had established a 24-point advantage.

Leading Red Mesa to victory were Kailee Sage and Shandiin Johnson. Sage dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds, while Johnson went 5-for-9 en route to 10 points and four steals. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Lailauni Bergey was another key player, putting up six points and seven boards.

The victory got Red Mesa back to even at 1-1. As for Music Mountain, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Red Mesa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-28 defeat against Hopi on the 25th. As for Music Mountain, they will take on Joseph City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
