Baseball Recap: Highland Extends Winning Streak to Three

Highland waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Jersey Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 last Monday.

The team relied heavily on Garrin Stone, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Chase Knebel, who scored a run and stole a base.

Highland's record is now 6-4. As for Jersey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Highland and Jersey could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Bulldogs will square off against O'Fallon at 2:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (178 vs. 10). Meanwhile, Jersey (ranked 161st) will meet Calhoun (ranked 32nd) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
