Volleyball Recap: Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals vs. Wood River Eagles

Doniphan-Trumbull was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell just short of the Wood River Eagles by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.

Doniphan-Trumbull actually scored more points across those five sets (107-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-23, 20-25, 17-25, 15-10.

Charlee Richter paced Doniphan-Trumbull's offense, picking up 32 kills. Richter got some help from Addison Maciejewski and her 28 assists. Kinley Kaczor controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Doniphan-Trumbull's defeat dropped their record down to 8-21. As for Wood River, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-20.

Doniphan-Trumbull does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wood River, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Thayer Central on the 28th.
