A well-balanced attack led Cascade over Southmont in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. The Cascade Cadets enjoyed a cozy 64-49 victory over the Southmont Mounties. Winning may never get old, but the Cadets sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Cascade's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Trebley, who shot 78% from the field on his way to 17 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Trebley is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Connor Sanders, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 13 points and five assists.
Trebley wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Cascade was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southmont only six assists.
Despite the loss, Southmont still got an impressive performance from Aaron Mcmasters, who shot 47% from the field en route to 19 points in addition to five boards and three steals. That's the most points Mcmasters has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Miller, who scored ten points and eight rebounds.
Cascade pushed their record up to 14-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points over those games. As for Southmont, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 15-7 record.
Cascade has already played their next game, a 63-52 win against Owen Valley on the 4th. As for Southmont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 75-64 defeat against South Vermillion on the 7th.
