Gainesville won the last time they faced Alton and things went their way on Monday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Comets 11-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won six games in a row.

Gainesville's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Alton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Gainesville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-2 win against Bakersfield on the 20th. Alton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
