Volleyball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Canutillo Eagles. The Silver Foxes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

While Jefferson was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Canutillo's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-20, 25-22.

Jefferson's offense was headlined by Genevieve Padilla and Yazmin May, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Jayme Rojas and her 19 assists. Finally, Valerie Ukanwa kept Jefferson's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Leading Canutillo to victory were Sophia Ontiveros and Player #18. Ontiveros had ten digs and three aces, while Player #18 had 13 digs and two assists. Ontiveros is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 28 games she's played.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Canutillo, their record is now 18-16.

Jefferson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Andress on the 24th. As for Canutillo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against El Paso on the 24th.
