Softball Recap: Bennett Comes Up Short

Bennett and South River squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Bennett had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Seahawks by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Clippers have suffered since May 8, 2025.

Bennett has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for South River, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-12-1.

Bennett does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South River, they will head out to face off against Arundel at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Seahawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
