Volleyball Recap: Oregon Victorious

With a playoff win on the line, Oregon rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top against the Elkhorn Elks by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

The final score came out to 25-16, 23-25, 25-19, 25-18.

Oregon had a senior duo take command as Alexis Fields had 16 digs and four aces and Devin Howard had seven digs and four assists. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Fields.

Oregon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in four consecutive contests.

Oregon's record is now 19-21. As for Elkhorn, they moved to 21-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

Looking ahead, Oregon will venture away from home to square off against Verona at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. Elkhorn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
