The Willow Spring Storm will face off against the Fuquay - Varina Bengals at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Willow Spring has three straight wins, Fuquay - Varina has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Willow Spring beat Cleveland 74-68.

Brady Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 9 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Grant Overman was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Fuquay - Varina came up short against Garner on Tuesday, falling 70-46. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while the Trojans are ranked tenth).
Willow Spring will need focus on slowing down Abdou Diop, one of several Fuquay - Varina players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Beckett Coon, who posted 16 points.
Fuquay - Varina's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Willow Spring, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Willow Spring has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 38.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Fuquay - Varina struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything went Willow Spring's way against Fuquay - Varina when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Willow Spring made off with a 79-56 victory. Does Willow Spring have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fuquay - Varina turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
