Softball Recap: Potlatch Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Potlatch made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Colfax, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Loggers blew past the Bulldogs 11-5 on Saturday. The victory was just business as usual for the Loggers, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

The team relied heavily on Hayley McNeal, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Liza Quaade was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Potlatch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .394 or higher in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

Potlatch's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 11.2 runs thus far. As for Colfax, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Potlatch will take on Clearwater Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Loggers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 13 runs per game this season. As for Colfax, they will face off against Liberty at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Lancers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
