Softball Recap: Abingdon/Avon Takes a Loss

Abingdon/Avon managed to slip by Annawan-Wethersfield the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Tornadoes lost 9-1 to the Titans on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Tornadoes couldn't push the score so high this time.

Abingdon/Avon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Tracey, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Taylor Ford was another, going 3-for-4 with one run.

The loss snapped Abingdon/Avon's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-10 record. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Abingdon/Avon will challenge Bureau Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tornadoes are facing the Storm at the right time seeing as the Storm are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, they will square off against Knoxville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Bullets will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight.
