Football Recap: Hargrave Falcons vs. La Marque Cougars
Hargrave gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-16 victory over the La Marque Cougars at home. With the Falcons ahead 28-2 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Nolan Cook, who rushed for 28 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 90 yards and a touchdown. Jake Tinnin was in the mix as well, providing Hargrave with a touchdowns.
Hargrave wouldn't let La Marque keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Hargrave can thank Will Swartz and Tinnin for forcing both of them. Swartz's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack, forcing a fumble, and making four total tackles (1.0 for loss) which he returned for a touchdown.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hargrave is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they square off against Furr at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hargrave is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. As for La Marque, they will venture away from home to face off against Wheatley at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
