Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Cinque Hodge and Xavier Davies Lead Northside to Victory

Northside had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Columbus Blue Devils by a score of 73-65. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 58-49 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leading Northside to victory were Xavier Davies and Cinque Hodge. Davies went 9 for 14 on his way to 21 points in addition to six boards and five steals, while Hodge posted 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. With that strong performance, Hodge is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Wakefield, who put up ten points.

Northside's record now sits at 4-5. As for Columbus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Northside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-55 victory against Russell County on the 14th. As for Columbus, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 82-29 defeat against Carver on the 14th.
