Baseball Game Preview: Hidden Valley Titans vs. Pulaski County Cougars

The Hidden Valley Titans will venture away from home to square off against the Pulaski County Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Things were looking good for Hidden Valley after they put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Northside by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Titans have suffered against the Vikings since March 12, 2019.

Carter Perkins and Ryan Walding stepped up to the plate in a big way. Perkins went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Walding scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That RBI marked the first that Perkins brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Clarke, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Pulaski County came up short against Blacksburg on Tuesday and fell 9-6. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Bruins: they've now lost five in a row.

Hidden Valley now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Pulaski County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Hidden Valley skirted past Pulaski County 4-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
