Recap: Millington Central Trojans vs. Crockett County Cavaliers
There's no place like home for The Millington Central Trojans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They managed a 38-34 victory over Crockett County on Friday. The win was just what Millington Central needed coming off of a 45-10 defeat in their prior contest.
McCoy Pugh was on fire: he rushed for 211 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes. Pugh was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Another player making a difference was Jyshawn Anderson, who picked up 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Millington Central's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.8 points per game. As for Crockett County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Millington Central will square off against Haywood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Haywood is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. Crockett County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
