Softball Recap: Randolph Comes Up Short

Randolph came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 13-3 to the Falls City Beavers.

Randolph saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elizabeth Landreth, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double. Those hits marked the first that Landreth has got this season. Claire Kistler was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Randolph has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-1 record this season. As for Falls City, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Looking ahead, Randolph will face off against Cornerstone Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Ro-Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Falls City, they will challenge Knippa at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
