Volleyball Recap: Jena Stanley Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Victory Christian Academy

Victory Christian won the last time they faced Victory Christian Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Victory Christian took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-9, 25-11.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Victory Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jena Stanley, who had 13 digs and three aces. Those 13 digs gave Stanley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zoe Vernelson, who had eight digs, six kills, and two aces.

Victory Christian's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Victory Christian Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Victory Christian will challenge Abundant Life Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will square off against Heritage Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
