Overton is 0-9-1 against Whitehaven since May of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Wolverines will host the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Overton barely beat Kirby the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines blew past the Cougars 18-10 on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Wolverines as they're now sitting on three straight.
Jercorion Wesley made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off two hits. Wesley was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

In other batting news, Marquel Brooks was a standout: he fired off three runs, three doubles, and four RBI while going 5-for-5. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daiquan Dixon, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI.
Overton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Whitehaven took on Southwind on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 22-7 victory. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly 15 runs.
The team relied heavily on Cordae Payne, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Kaleb Neely was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Overton's win bumped their record up to 14-8-1. As for Whitehaven, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
