Basketball Recap: Hayfork's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against Dunsmuir last Tuesday, Hayfork came back down to earth. The game between the Hayfork Timberjacks and the Paradise Bobcats didn't end well, with the Hayfork Timberjacks falling 63-47. If the Timberjacks were looking for revenge after losing 77-52 to them when the teams met on Friday, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Hayfork lost, don't look at Levi Cavalli. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Nanez, who had 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Hayfork smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 17 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

With the defeat, Hayfork broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3. As for Paradise, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Loyalton the next time they take the court. Hayfork will head out to face Loyalton at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, while Paradise will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
