It was fun while it lasted, but Newton's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Tuesday. They were dealt a 73-31 loss at the hands of the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs. The Cardinals lost against the Mustangs in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 72-59 score last time.

Having lost for the first time this season, Newton fell to 3-1. As for Dallas Center-Grimes, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Newton will be home for the holidays to greet Pella at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dallas Center-Grimes, they are taking a road trip to take on Oskaloosa at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
