The Staples Wreckers will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Newtown Nighthawks on Tuesday. Newtown took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Staples, who comes in off a win.

Staples is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Danbury a 2-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Newtown faced Notre Dame Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Sunday. The Nighthawks came up short against the Lancers, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for Newtown in their meetings with Notre Dame Prep: they've now lost six in a row.

Staples' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-0-2. As for Newtown, their loss dropped their record down to 15-3-1.

Staples couldn't quite get it done against Newtown when the teams last played back in September of 2021 as they fell 2-0. Can the Wreckers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
