Gordon came tearing into Monday's match with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Eula Pirates 74-29. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while the Pirates are ranked 1287th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gordon's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.3 points over those games. As for Eula, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-17.

Gordon will have a chance to go back-to-back against Eula: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
