Volleyball Recap: Commerce Comes Up Short

Commerce lost against Athens Academy back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-13.

Claire Hollars paced Commerce's offense, picking up five kills. Hollars got some help from Maribeth Hill and her five assists.

Commerce's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Athens Academy, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-7.

Coming up, Commerce will face off against Parkview at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Athens Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Madison County at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
