Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara won the last time they faced San Marcos, and Luke Zuffelato did his part to make sure it happened again. The Santa Barbara Dons walked away with a 72-60 win over the San Marcos Royals on Wednesday thanks in part to Zuffelato, who shot 4-for-7 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 33 points and nine boards. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Diesel Lowe was another key player, going 7 of 14 en route to 19 points and five assists. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024.

The victory (which was Santa Barbara's third in a row) raised their record to 16-5. As for San Marcos, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5.

Santa Barbara wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 66-52 win against Ridgefield on the 17th. As for San Marcos, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-67 victory against Pacifica on the 17th.
