Basketball Recap: Nash Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Markell Jasper and Gerald Davis

Nash Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a hard 64-49 fall against the Beddingfield Bruins. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 57-42 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Nash Central's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Gerald Davis, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals, and Markell Jasper, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 17 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Davian Sharpe, who posted six points.

Jhion Ashby continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Beddingfield, going 7 of 11 on his way to 22 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaden Sauls, who put up eight points and six rebounds.

Nash Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Beddingfield, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Nash Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-24 loss against SouthWest Edgecombe on the 10th. As for Beddingfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 48-45 win against Hunt on the 6th.
