Softball Game Preview: Palmyra Panthers vs. Doane Academy

Palmyra hasn't had much luck against Doane Academy recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against Doane Academy at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Palmyra took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let Pennsauken get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. That 18-run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Doane Academy couldn't beat Maple Shade on Monday even though they stacked eight runs on them in the fourth inning. Doane Academy lost 20-12 to Maple Shade.

Doane Academy saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brielle Perry, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was Perry's first of the season. Another was Hannah Gusrang, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Palmyra's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Doane Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Everything went Palmyra's way against Doane Academy in their previous matchup back in March, as Palmyra made off with a 15-0 win. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will Doane Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
