Baseball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Patriot

While Patriot put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Rubidoux. The Warriors blew past the Falcons 7-0. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won six in a row.

Isaac Martinez made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Diego Ramirez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Joey Ortiz was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Patriot was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Patriot's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Rubidoux, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patriot will take on La Sierra at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rubidoux, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Norte Vista at 3:15 p.m.
