Basketball Recap: Kennedy Comes Up Short

Kennedy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were dealt an 82-44 loss at the hands of the Manual Thunderbolts. While losing is never fun, the Commanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Thunderbolts are ranked 157th).

Despite the loss, Kennedy still got an impressive performance from Chauncey Loftin, who went 5 of 6 en route to 15 points and five rebounds. Ki'Marri Dotson was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Manual, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Kennedy will face off against DSST: Montview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in DSST: Montview's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests. As for Manual, they will challenge DSST: College View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. DSST: College View will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Manual surely won't give up without a fight.
