Baseball Recap: Taylor County Cardinals vs. North Hardin Trojans

Taylor County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They skirted past the North Hardin Trojans 8-7. For Taylor County, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 defeat North Hardin walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Austin Garrett was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole McLean, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Taylor County's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-0-1. As for North Hardin, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6-1.

Taylor County will be playing in front of their home fans against Russell County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Taylor County: 2.5, Russell County: 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for North Hardin, they are on the road again on Monday to play Bethlehem at 5:30 p.m. Bethlehem will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something North Hardin surely won't give up without a fight.
