Recap: Westview Chargers vs. Lexington Tigers
The Westview Chargers came tearing into Saturday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lexington 60-29 at home. Considering Westview has won seven matchups by more than 20 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Westview was led to victory by Mccall Sims and Kylee Alexander. Sims scored 19 points, while Alexander scored 23 points. Halle Trevathan was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Westview pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Lexington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Westview will head out on the road to face off against Huntingdon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Huntingdon is ranked 19th, while Westview is ranked 13th). As for Lexington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Scotts Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Scotts Hill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
