Recap: Crofton Warriors vs. Wayne Blue Devils
The Crofton Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 57-37 loss at the hands of Wayne. Crofton has struggled against Wayne recently, as their contest on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Braxston Foxhoven, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Allen, who scored 11 points.
Drue Davis went supernova for Wayne, scoring 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. Colson Nelsen was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Crofton has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Wayne, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crofton will stay at home for another game and welcome Boone Central at 6:30 p.m. on February 16th. Crofton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Boone Central is ranked 46th). As for Wayne, they will be playing at home against Boys Town at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wayne is on a nine-game streak of home wins, Boys Town a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
