The Coronado Cougars will venture away from home to take on The Classical Academy Titans at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Coronado is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Coronado challenged Harrison on Thursday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Panthers. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Tysen Noll made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
In other batting news, Turner Whitney was incredible, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Xavier Rodriguez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Coronado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, The Classical Academy was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They fell just short of Sand Creek by a score of 3-2. The match marked the Titans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Like Coronado, The Classical Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Zach Mediavilla. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Mediavilla has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Mediavilla wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was CJ Mullen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Mullen has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Coronado's record is now 4-9. As for The Classical Academy, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-2.
Coronado might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from The Classical Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2022. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
