Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Kankakee

Kankakee waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Thornridge Falcons get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 23-1 on Wednesday.

Adleigh Cunningham made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cunningham was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, LaMaryah Smith was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tay'La Tooles, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Kankakee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .842. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kankakee's record now sits at 10-4. As for Thornridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Kankakee will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
