Basketball Recap: DASH Victorious

DASH won the last time they faced Coastal Brigade and things went their way on Saturday too. The United snuck past Coastal Brigade with a 77-73 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the United.

DASH had a senior duo take command as Carter Adams posted 23 points and Stephen Edwards put up 22 points. Edwards is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in each of the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Keller, who earned eight points.

Despite the defeat, Coastal Brigade had strong showings from Beau Brake, who went 9-for-20 to rack up 26 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals, and Luke Bledsoe, who shot 48% from the field en route to 22 points. Brake has become a key player for Coastal Brigade: the team is 11-3 when he posts at least three steals, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cade Lewis, who scored 12 points.

DASH's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Coastal Brigade, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, DASH and Coastal Brigade will both be playing Southeastern HomeSchool the next time they take the court. Coastal Brigade will head out to face the Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the United will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
