Porter Wood commands the offense for a Mustangs win

Recap: Eagle Mustangs vs. Cole Valley Christian Chargers

The Eagle Mustangs waltzed into their matchup Saturday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 56-47 victory over Cole Valley Christian.

Eagle got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Porter Wood out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Paige Cofer was another key contributor, scoring 21 points.

Eagle is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Cole Valley Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5.

Eagle and Owyhee will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Owyhee is ranked 11th, while Eagle is ranked tenth). Cole Valley Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face The Ambrose School at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th. The Ambrose School is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
