Baseball Recap: Mesilla Valley Christian School's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Mesilla Valley Christian School entered their tilt with Lordsburg on Tuesday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They blew past the Mavericks 15-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-3 last Tuesday.

Weston Marr made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Davis Coyle, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Zach Beasley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Mesilla Valley Christian School hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lordsburg struck out nine times.

Mesilla Valley Christian School pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.6 runs over those games. As for Lordsburg, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7.

Mesilla Valley Christian School will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mavericks: the pair will be back at it again later today.
