Volleyball Recap: West Caldwell Tech Starts Season with Victory Against West Essex

West Caldwell Tech had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the West Essex Knights by a score of 2-0 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their 13th in a row dating back to last season.

West Caldwell Tech easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-20.

West Caldwell Tech was led to victory by John Jimenez and Dennis Ayora. Jimenez had 11 digs and three assists, while Ayora had five digs and one block. Ayora has been hot for a while, having also posted 13 or more assists the last ten times he's played.

West Caldwell Tech and West Essex will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. West Caldwell Tech is set to challenge their familiar foe Livingston at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, West Essex will face off against rival East Side at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
