Recap: Stuarts Draft vs. Thomas Jefferson
Stuarts Draft earned some more postseason success in their contest on Saturday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 49-7 victory over Thomas Jefferson. The Cougars' win was all the more impressive since Thomas Jefferson was averaging only 17 points allowed on the season.
The Cougars got off to a slow start in their game last week against East Rockingham, but they had no such trouble against the Vikings as they cruised to a 28-point first half. The Vikings countered with 7 points, leaving the score at 28-7 going into the half. The Cougars put the contest away in the third quarter with 14 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense.
The victory (their fourth in a row) raised the Cougars' record to 13-1. The Vikings' loss pushes them down to 11-3.
The Cougars will go up against Appomattox County in continuing playoff action next week. The stakes are high as both of those teams are all in, each fighting to extend its postseason success. Thomas Jefferson's playoff loss brings an end to their season.
