Baseball Recap: Lordstown Comes Up Short

Lordstown had lost 13 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-7 to make it 14. They lost 16-5 to the Pymatuning Valley Lakers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 17-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Pymatuning Valley, their win bumped their record up to 7-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.

For Pymatuning Valley's part, Sean Croston was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Landon Paul, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coming up, Lordstown is taking a road trip to face off against Maplewood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pymatuning Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeside at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
