Soccer Game Preview: Tamalpais vs. Napa

The Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks will challenge the Napa Grizzlies at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Napa took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Tamalpais, who comes in off a win.

Napa will be up against a hot Tamalpais squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Red Tailed Hawks came out on top against Redwood by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. That's two games straight that Tamalpais have won by exactly two goals.

They hit Redwood with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Cole Soto, Marco Caruso, and Devin Perkins.

Meanwhile, after soaring to seven goals the game before, Napa was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vintage. While losing is never fun, Napa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while Vintage are ranked 14th).

Tamalpais' win bumped their record up to 5-2-2. As for Napa, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2-3.

Tamalpais beat Napa by a goal in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, winning 1-0. Do the Red Tailed Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
