Football Recap: Jack Purvis Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Beacon

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Goshen Central, Kingston was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Beacon Bulldogs by a score of 23-13. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 8-0 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Kingston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Purvis led the charge by rushing for six yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for 174 yards and one TD. The Tigers' leading receiver Cole Thorpe was Purvis' top target yet again, picking up 93 receiving yards and one score.

Kingston's run defense was locked in: Beacon could only muster 2.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Riley Corrigan for the heroic effort on defense: he. Kingston's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 3.7.

Kingston's defense didn't let Delano Rigby Jr, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Elijah Johnson, Cruz Geuss, and Jeremy Reynoso, who each picked up one sack apiece. Corrigan was another major factor on D, making 11 total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Although Beacon took the loss, they still got scores from Marciano Rodriguez and Jah'Real Whitted.
