Baseball Recap: Mcnairy Central Wins Going Away Against Halls

While McNairy Central didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-18-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Halls Tigers 9-0 on Saturday. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.

Case Stone made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Deuce Garner, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Jasper Hickman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

With the victory, McNairy Central broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-4. As for Halls, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as McNairy Central Bobcats take on Lexington Tigers at 6:20 p.m. on Monday. This will be McNairy Central's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Halls, they will be playing at home against Peabody at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
