If Valley Lutheran was riding high fresh off their 37-12 takedown of Tempe on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The matchup between the Valley Lutheran Flames and the Highland Prep Honey Badgers didn't end well, with the Valley Lutheran Flames falling 47-29. The Flames' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Several Flames players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Viddiate Clinton, who posted seven points in addition to seven steals and five boards. Another player making a difference was Natalia Hernandez, who had ten points along with six steals and five boards.

Tatiana Minick was the offensive standout of the game as she went 5 of 9 on her way to 14 points. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Minick, who put up nine points and three steals.

Valley Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Highland Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Valley Lutheran didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-36 win against Chandler Prep on the 3rd. As for Highland Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 38-23 victory against San Tan Foothills on the 3rd.
