Basketball Recap: Garfield Wins Going Away Against Sotomayor

In Thursday's Canine Competition, Garfield prevailed. They were the clear victor by a 63-43 margin over the Sotomayor Wolves on Thursday. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 56-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolves cut but never quite recovered from.

Garfield has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Sotomayor, they moved to 5-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Garfield will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Huntington Park at 6:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Sotomayor and Bassett will compete for holiday cheer at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.
