Basketball Recap: Jadon Autuneh-El's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Prattville over Thompson

Prattville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Thompson Warriors, falling 86-61. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while the Warriors are ranked 59th).

Prattville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jadon Autuneh-El, who went 7 of 16 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds. Those 17 points gave Autuneh-El a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cameron Lewis, who posted 20 points along with six boards and four steals.

Even though they lost, Prattville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Prattville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-19. As for Thompson, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-10.

Prattville will host Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Thompson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tuscaloosa County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
