Soccer Game Preview: Hempstead vs. Sealy

Hempstead is 1-9 against Sealy since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bobcats will face off against the Tigers. Hempstead's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Hempstead is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Harmony School of Innovation on Monday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1.

Hempstead's goal came courtesy of Edwin Argueta-Reyes, who's now up to 14 this season.

Meanwhile, Sealy kept a clean sheet against Bellville on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Brahmas. Sealy had to overcome some adversity as Vicjoe Sanchez and Miguel Melendez were both handed red cards.

The victory made it two in a row for Sealy and bumps their season record up to 7-10-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored six goals over those two matchups. As for Hempstead, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Hempstead came up short against Sealy when the teams last played back in January, falling 2-0. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
